While I have not talked to Kristin today, I did talk to her yesterday and Ryan was doing much better! He was more awake, developing more strength and able to mouth more words and clearer than before. He was having anxiety at night so Kristin checked out of her hotel and has decided to stay with Ryan in his room until he is better and understands more. Be sure to check out her blog.
God has shown me a lot about His love through this and a lot about my weak little faith and the mighty power of prayer. God is the great healer and He is healing Ryan day by day.
At work the other night I got to thinking. In reality God is always the healer whether He choses to do so supernaturally or through the people He has gifted as physicians and others in the medical field. And regardless of whether the person sick is a believer in God and His son Jesus Christ all credit deserves to go to GOD for any and all healing, great or small. Whether the doctors or nurses or patient or family do or don't believe does not alter the FACT and TRUTH that God does exist and all good things come from HIM!! All life comes from HIM and all death is meant to bring us into presence with HIM. Some might say, well duh Kandy, but this truth really sunk in. And it made me realize that with every patient I deal with I can be a witness to them and show them God's hand and existance. Every breath we breathe is a gift from God and not deserved or earned. And when I deal with patients who get better I can say, "well praise the Lord." I may get looked at funny by my coworkers, or get considered "religious" and maybe even a freak, but that doesn't change the truth either. Too often I get caught giving credit where credit is not due and not giving credit where it is due. I say, wow he/she is really a great doctor. That may be true, but first I need to say, God is awesome, loving and generous, and He has gifted the hands and mind of medical personnel. So, remember, first and foremost PRAISE GOD it is through His hand that flows all life and healing.
