God is good...yet we still grieve

Nahum 1:7
"The LORD is good,
a stronghold for the day of trouble;
He knows those who take refuge in Him."

God is good and yet there is still much much grief. The only reason we can say God is good even in the midst of such tremendous grief is because of the promises He has given us and because of His words to us.

Psalm 34:18
"the LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit"

Psalm 46:1-2
"God is our refuge, an always-present help in time of trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the sea."

1 Thess 4:13-18
"We do not want to be ignorant about those who have fallen asleep, that you may not grieve as others who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep. For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, the we who are alive, who are left until the coming fo the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God, And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we, who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. Therefore encourage one another with these words."

In Kristin's grief she is taking refuge and finding strength in the Lord. Praise GOD!
I wish you all were able to know Ryan, for you would have seen, as I did what a man of God he was. What he sacrificed because of his Love of Christ and all he gave for his wife and children. How I pray that we will continue to tell the stories to Lily and Wyatt and that we would love Christ as Ryan did and show his children what an awesome God we serve. Please don't stop praying for Kristin and her family. Now more than ever she needs your prayers.
