Teach me O Lord...

"So teach us to number our days that me way get a heart of wisdom...Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, that we may rejoice and me glad all our days." Psalm 90: 12 & 14.

I am going to spend the next few days praying over and meditating on the above passage. I once again, man I am such a sinner, have fallen into spending WAY to much time on the internet. I am home a lot and that should mean I have a ton of time to spend with my children and with Jesus. But really I spend a lot of time napping and internet surfing. I want to make some drastic changes and I am going to make them. Starting with twittering and internet surfing and following other peoples blogs. Yes it's fun, yes it's harmless, UNTIL it becomes an IDOL. Something that steals away from time with Jesus, something that takes time that Jesus could use me to do something else. So, I will continue my own personal blogging for I don't feel that is the source of idol worshipping. But I will cut off/limit my internet surfing probably to a few minutes every day to check email and when Woody is home so that I can have accountability. My good friend Rachel wrote a great post today that got my wheels churning. Acutally the Lord used it to convict my heart. Check it out if you want, here.

So, ask me about it, call me up, talk to me. Let me know of any fun activities/service projects or help you may need. I am home, I am free and I want to get off my duff and start working for the Lord.

Yes, Lord, teach me to number my days. May I seek your face first thing in the morning and continue to seek it throughout the day. Forgive me Jesus for wasting precious time you have given me to serve on selfish useless activity. Help me get a heart of wisdom, in Jesus name, Amen.
